Hearing other attendees’ voices and discovering shared interests gives people another reason to come: a connection they can continue when they meet.
Participation is free for you and attendees. A Vorail volunteer helps with setup, welcomes participants, and encourages conversation.

Can we keep our existing calendar?
Yes. Keep announcing events through your website, newsletter, PDF, or calendar service. Add the event’s space on Vorail so people can introduce themselves and start talking.
Participants can add events to their phone’s calendar or Google Calendar. Town square members can also subscribe to the whole calendar in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook to receive new events, time changes, and cancellations.
Who can join, and is it free?
Anyone with your event code can join the event’s space for free. Share the code with your event announcement so potential attendees can join the conversation.
People who cannot attend can still leave an “I can’t make it, but…” message and take part in the discussion.
What happens after an event or a recurring class?
The conversation threads stay open, and the Ask All button stays active. Attendees can reply to earlier conversations or ask the whole group a new question, share an experience, and make plans to meet again.
For recurring events, the same conversation threads continue across the series and remain available after the final session. Participants can also indicate that they are happy to answer questions from newcomers to the next run.
Organizers can record a closing question that posts to the town square automatically when the event ends.
What can organizers manage?
- Event details. Set the date, time, duration, and location. Run events in person, online, by phone, or in a hybrid format.
- Places and waiting lists. Set a capacity. If someone drops out, people on the waiting list move up automatically.
- Materials and updates. Attach a link, share a recording, and explain changes in your own voice. A cancelled event’s conversation threads stay open.
- Recurring sessions. Add the next session with one tap. The original introduction carries over, and the conversation continues.
- Buddies. Participants who request a buddy are paired with someone else who asked.
Can we hold a live audio event?
Yes. Turn on “Live audio room in the app.” A Join live button appears on the event 30 minutes before it starts, so people can arrive early and talk.
Everyone enters unmuted and can mute or unmute themselves. The host can mute participants, and attendees can raise a hand to speak. Changes are announced aloud.
The event’s conversation threads remain available alongside the room, keeping questions before the event and follow-ups afterwards in the same place.
How does it work with VoiceOver?
Events appear in a spoken list, with relative dates first—such as “in two days”—followed by the full date and event details. There is no month grid to navigate. Event actions are available through the actions rotor.
Participants can hear the host’s introduction, listen to who is coming, and respond by voice. Attached links are announced with the name of the site, and calendar subscription steps are spoken too.
Is the event calendar available on Android?
Yes. The event calendar is available in both the iPhone and Android apps.
The event ends, but the connection doesn’t have to.
